There are many reasons why someone might choose to become a foster parent. Maybe you have always wanted children but it hasn't worked out for you. Maybe you want to make a difference in the life of a child who needs stability and love. Whatever your reasons may be, know that there are children out there who need homes and families – and you could be the perfect match for them. While Angels Foster is not an adoptions agency and cannot guarantee adoption, being a resource parent is its own form of love, bonding, and gratification.

What Does Angels Foster Family Network Provide?

Angels Foster Family Network provides certification, support groups, 24/7 on-call support, and access to resources like on-going training and a financial stipend to help resource parents succeed. In addition, each foster family has their own case manager who provides guidance and support throughout the fostering process. You will never be alone when you become a foster parent with Angels Foster Family Network.

How Can I Become A Foster Parent?

The first step is to attend an informational meeting where you will learn more about what it means to be a foster parent and the expectations of Angels Foster Family Network, plus how they are doing things differently than – while working in tandem with – traditional foster care. After attending one of these information sessions, you will need to apply and, after acceptance, you must complete several required trainings as well as pass background checks and home studies before being approved as a resource parent. The entire process usually takes between nine to twelve months, though some people who make it a priority can do it more quickly. A good thing to remember, however, is that – while it may seem like a long process – it’s worth it knowing that you are doing this to make a difference in the life of a child in need.

If you are single and considering becoming a foster parent, know that you are not alone. There are many resources available to help guide you through the fostering process. Angels Foster Family Network provides unparalleled support and, while foster care can be daunting, it is well worth the sacrifices and hard work.
